In this blog post I would like to talk about my brother. My brother, Mike, is my absolute best friend. He has been there for me through everything and I could not thank him enough. Every time I need someone my brother is there for me.
Growing up my dad was not really wasn’t around often and my brother stepped in and was the role model figure we all strive to have one day. He taught me so much about life, not by explaining how life is, but by SHOWING how life is. He reached for his biggest dreams and accomplished them. Looking at the things he has accomplished I can firmly say that no matter what you have to reach for what you want. My brother always did what his heart always wanted to do.
He went to York College out of high school and lasted one semester. It wasn’t a failure; it was an eye opener. He realized the path he was going down wasn’t the path he wanted. He realized he wanted to help others and be there for others. He became a cop. A cop is an amazing profession for him, simply because he is the most helpful person I know. My brother will drop anything he is currently doing to help others. Even though he gets annoyed at himself about it, he still loves helping everyone he can.
Mike helped me get through so much in the past. He helped me SURVIVE high school. He was there to protect when he saw how vulnerable I was in high school. While my brother is everything I try to be, I try to be my own person. Being younger than him, I always was in a shadow and always wanted to make a name for myself instead of being “Mike’s brother”. I realized I have really succeeded at this and it was simply with being myself.
I write this as a thank you. As he enters the next stage of his life (marriage), I would like to say thank you for everything you have done for me. You are going to do amazing things in your life, and I can’t wait to see you do them. I love you, bro and continue to be the best brother I could ask for.
